Caring for your reborn
These are just our gentle suggestions to help keep your reborn looking and feeling its best. Because every baby is handmade and made up of delicate materials, we'd always recommend treating your reborn as the art piece it is, rather than a traditional toy, so it stays beautiful for years to come.
How should I store my reborn?
When your baby isn't being cuddled or displayed, keep them somewhere clean, dry, and out of direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Avoid anywhere they could get compressed or squashed.
Can I leave my reborn in direct sunlight?
We'd recommend avoiding long spells in direct sunlight. Like most handmade, hand-painted items, prolonged sunlight can affect the colouring and delicate materials over time.
Are reborns delicate?
They are, reborns are handmade art dolls with lots of delicate components, so they'll always appreciate gentle handling. A little care goes a long way in keeping your baby looking beautiful for years to come.
Can I wash my reborn?
No, even a quick wash or wipe-down should be avoided. Although the paintwork is sealed once finished, it's still made up of very fine layers, and moisture can wear or rub those layers away, even if nothing seems to happen straight away. It's best to think of your reborn as needing to stay completely dry, rather than just avoiding a full bath.
Can I repair my reborn if something happens?
If anything happens to your reborn, please reach out to us before attempting any repairs yourself. Depending on what's happened, some damage can be repaired or restored, and we'll always be happy to advise on the best way forward.
Are reborns suitable for everyday cuddling?
Yes! Our cloth-bodied reborns are made to be held, cuddled and loved. We'd just recommend gentle handling and a little extra care around delicate areas like rooted hair, eyelashes, fingers and toes.
